If you don’t upgrade to the Privilege program, you are at a great disadvantage when it comes to eating in the specialty restaurants. They are very understaffed and the poor Mexican people are running themselves ragged to try and serve everyone. I resorted to hoarding them in my bag so I could have some at each meal. If you try to get it yourself by going into the supply area, they yell at you. You have to ask for salt and pepper at each meal and someone may or may not remember to bring it to you. Most of the food is very bland and a lot of items are similar…so not much variety. Sub par for sure except for the sweets which are pretty good. The biggest negative is the food quality. This is the most EXCLUSIVE (as in opposite of inclusive ) “all inclusive” resort I’ve ever been to. Riu, Iberostar, Sandos (Not Four Seasons or the Hyatt) is the level of quality I am used to for the same price I paid here. I’m a pretty low key person who doesn’t like to complain much and try my best to focus on gratitude. I’ve been coming to Mexican AI for the last 25 years and this is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a review.
